New Year, New Website

Not only is it the start of an exciting new year for Ruiz Strategies, we’re celebrating the launch of our new website! It’s been a journey to get this newest version done because we’ve been so busy with the growth of our company, but thanks to the tireless efforts of our team and our strategic partner, Social Driver, it went live this week. Please take a look and let us know what you think in the comments section below. We’re looking forward to your feedback.

Tips for Creating a Great Business Website

Having just gone through this process, we’d like to share some tips for creating a great business website. It’s important to keep in mind that both good web design and bad web design send a message about your company.  Good design is not just how a website works, but it’s also about how a website feels. An effective website is a valuable way to communicate with your customers.

1. Website solutions

First, we know the process of rolling out a new website can be daunting, but the good thing is, there are more easy-to-use template solutions available than ever before – Wordpress and SquareSpace being two options. If you don’t have a savvy web design person on your team, hire one. Seriously. The combination of the template options now available, and a good web designer, has made the cost of creating new websites very affordable. And you want it to showcase your company in the best way possible.

2. Consistent branding

Pay attention to color schemes, font usage, imagery, language and tone of your website content and make sure it’s consistent across all the pages. Consistency instills confidence and builds trust with your customers and potential clients. It also helps your company become memorable. It’s important to ask yourself, “Does this look, feel and sound like my company?”

When the details aren’t consistent and you have a poorly designed website, visitors to your site are turned off. Remember – you want them to feel reassured and confident about your company and its offerings.

3. Humanize your company

Tell your complete story, not just what you offer. Share your core values, how your company supports your community, and some behind the scenes content. Potential customers (and employees) want to get a better sense of who you are what you stand for. This is a smart way to not only promote your business, but to become memorable.

4. Company blog

Blogging is one of the best ways to draw new visitors to your website, establish your team’s expertise, and remind clients why they work with you. The most effective blog strategy is thinking about your readers and always providing value. As an example, this blog post could have been simply about the launch of our new website. And while we talk about it, it was also important for us to share with our readers helpful information – like tips on how to build a website that stands out. We believe a website needs to offer more than just company information and a blog is a great strategy to do that.

5. Social media buttons

As you think about ways to give people a better sense about your company, don’t forget to add social buttons linked to your social media profiles. And place them prominently. This makes it easier for people to follow you and keep up with your company information, announcements and be reminded of your expertise.

Finally, whatever features, functions, and content you add to your website, make sure they really make sense for your business and support your website’s purpose.

Do you have any tips to share from developing your company website?
